Old Orchard Farm Field Trip

Old Orchard Farm in Little Compton, RI was the first field trip for Olivia and Jack this school year.  In fact, it's Jack's first field trip ever and first ride on a big yellow school bus.  I decided I would help chaperone the trip since I probably won't be able to go on another one this year. We had lots of fun, the children loved learning about how apples grow, how Mr. Wetzel takes care of them, how to properly pick apples, how the washer for the apples works, etc.  They also got to pick small pumpkins, fill their own apple bags, and check out all the other animals on the farm.  It was a beautiful day.
Here is Olivia with her friend Ava.  They get along very well.
They both have very good senses of humor too!
Here's the whole gang waiting nicely to board the bus.
Jack and Livi sat together on the bus...but I think they wanted to sit with their friends.
Jasper and Lucien...Jack's boys!
Check out the big turkey....that's going to taste delicious on Thanksgiving Day!
Learning about the watering system for the dwarf trees.
Listening to Mr. Wetzel talk about the pumpkin patch.

He's so stinkin' cute, isn't he?
And so is my Olivia.

Boogie Down Bronx Weekend

Columbus Day Weekend in the Boogie Down Bronx

Here's Jack and Eric smushing on the bed as soon as we checked into the Marriott.
Olivia and Jack sharing the biggest slice of pizza they have ever seen.

The Bug Carousel

Livi rode the ladybug and Jack rode the beetle

The Gorilla's were our favorite!

Here's Jack showing Olivia how to entice a cobra.  He would move his hand up and down and the snake would follow his every move.  It was so cool.

Daddy teaching the children about how an elephant can make huge indents or craters in trees.  It was absolutely gigantic, although you can't see it very good in the picture.  Livi and Jack love when daddy teaches them about anything...they are so interested and it always soaks right in.  I love how kids are such sponges!

We got a kick out of the hay in the gorilla's bum and the babies fooling around.

The gorilla on the branch was eating something and kept throwing it up in his hands and eating it again....then along came the baby gorilla who opened his mouth to get the junk that fell out of his hands.  Quite disgusting!

They are ready for a battle.
The gorilla weighs 402.04 lbs.
Jack weighs a whooping 39.2 lbs.
and Livi weighs 45.8...I can hardly believe it.
Daddy and Livi loved riding the camel!  Jack was a bit nervous and just stood watch with me.

Olivia got a kick out of the pheasant who hopped over the fence and ran right in front of her.

Aren't my children beautiful?

We love the elephants too!
We took a 30 minute monorail ride.  We loved being able to witness a lot of
animals in their element.

NY pretzels are gigantic, as Livi and Jack declared!
Olivia can jump over 5 feet from a stand still.  So may people were raving about it.  They couldn't believe it....quite frankly, I couldn't either.

Olivia surprised me at the zoo.  She isn't usually my dare devil...Jack is, but he did not want tto ride the camels and then he refused a Skyfari Ride across the zoo.
Olivia LOVED it!  And so did I!

The beautiful and breathtaking Bronx River
