Olivia Katherine is 6!

Olivia is 6 years old today.  Exactly 6 years ago I was in the hospital hoping to have a natural child birth in the Alternative Birthing Center but Olivia had other plans for me.  I was stuck at 4 cm forever it seemed and I wasn't budging.  My midwife suggested the epidural to relax me and so i gave in.  Low and behold it worked, I went to 10 cm in a snap and I pushed Olivia out in less than 20 minutes.  What an experience!  I remember it so vividly like it was yesterday.  I saw the whole thing.  I asked for a mirror so I could see my progression.  Once I saw her head crown, that was it...I had to get her out to hold her and love her forever.  I pushed and then I grabbed under her arms and I pulled her out myself right up to my chest.  She laid there with me for a while.  I loved every minute of it.  I ended up tearing a bit, so then Eric got to hold her for a long time while they sewed me up.  I will never forget the instant feeling of gratification when I pushed her out...I think one of the first things I said to everyone, was "put her back in....I want to do it again"...the feeling was sooooooo wonderful!

My life has never been the same since February 25, 2003 at exactly 3:29 pm.  Olivia has brought so much into our lives...love, chaos, fun, laughter, smiles, sleepless nights, and so much more.  I can't imagine my life without her and I thank God everyday for bringing me such a wonderful, intelligent, sweet young lady to call my daughter.

Charlotte Anne's Christening Day

On February 8, 2009, Charlotte Anne was baptized into the Roman Catholic Church.  The ceremony was at St. Barnie's in Portsmouth, RI and the luncheon was at The Wharf Tavern in Warren, RI.  In attendance was as follows:  Charlotte and her mommy and daddy, Olivia, Jack, Charlie's Godparents: Alanna and Doug Webb, Her Grandparents (both sets), her Auntie's Regina and Alexa, as well as her great Auntie Nancy, Her great-great Auntie Catherine, cousins Martina and Cathy and Mike.  A lot of friends came as well:  Cheryl, John, Hannah, Sawyer, Melanie, Connor, Kelly, Connor, Lauren, Maureen, Missy and I think that's it.  In total there were 28 people there to witness the glorious event and you, Charlotte so really 29!  It was a beautiful day...sunny and warm and a great day to have lunch on the water in Warren!

My Jack

My beautiful little man...Jack Thomas.  This face makes me smile every minute of every day. He melts my heart even when he is the crankiest boy in the whole world.  I love that he comes in every morning and kisses me good morning and tells me he misses me when he's at school.  He always wants me to snuggle him and sit close to him on the couch.  He always grabs my arm and pulls it over him tightly.  Tonight my boy is away in NY at his Aunt's house with his daddy and big sister, Olivia.  I miss him very much as I do is sister and my husbie, Eric.  When I saw this face, I had to post it and let you all know how much I love my boy.  I really hope he remains a 'mommy's little boy' as he grows older.  Oh, and he tells me everyday that I am quote "the best mommy ever in the whole wide world" end quote.  Wouldn't you love hearing that every day?
