Olivia's 1st Soccer Practice..She's a Star!

Olivia had her first soccer practice on Friday, Sept.5th.  She was super excited about it.  She couldn't wait to play.  At first we didn't sign her up because she is already involved with swim class and ballet and jazz.  But once she saw how much fun it was watching Jack, she insisted on being part of a team.  Well, as all of you should know...I LOVE SOCCER!!!  So I took the chance to immediately call Ocean State Soccer and check to see if there was any room on a team for her. And there was.  She is on an Under 6 team.  As soon as we got to the fields for practice she ran out there and became a soccer star.  It's like she has been playing forever.  The only thing she had to be directly instructed to do was when the coach said to run a lap around the field it meant to follow the perimeter lines painted in white.  She ran around and then realized, oops, I did it wrong.  So she did it again.

Here are some awesome pictures of her practicing, running drills and scrimmaging...she even had the opportunity to kick a ball into play from the sidelines.  I guess they do kicks instead of throw-in's as to not confuse the kids.  So many of them want to pick up the balls, but at least if they kick in the ball, they will see that you never pick up the ball.  I guess it's easier to transition to a throw in once they really get a feel for the game and rules.

Olivia was a natural from the start.  She dribbled great, was aggressive and even scored some goals!  She really is my little soccer star!  I am so proud of her, and so is Daddy!
